IACP Website Update: Enhancements to the "Locate a Collaborative Professional" Feature

We heard you! Since the new, redesigned IACP website was launched in November following its debut at the Annual Forum in Toronto, we have received feedback from a number of members on the new "Locate a Collaborative Professional" feature. We thank you all for communicating with us, and have made a number of changes and enhancements that we hope will address your needs.

After clicking the link in the left Navigation Bar of the website, you will come to the page where you can locate a Collaborative Professional by filling in any single or multiple search items:

  • CP Last Name
  • Zip or Postal Code
  • Search County? - by checking this box, you can search the county in which the zip code appears
  • City
  • State or Province
  • Specific Areas of Expertise Desired - you can check one or more of these professions.

Once you have made your selections and clicked "submit", you will come to a page with a complete listing of IACP members that meet the criteria you selected, in random order. You can click on the field names at the top to sort the list by name, location, or profession. You can also click the box called "Map?" by each member's name and then by clicking "Map it" you will see the google map with the exact location of the member(s). By clicking on the member's name, or the bubble on the map, you will find basic contact information for that member and can view the member's profile for more detail. If the member has more than one office location, the member's name will appear at all locations.

We have also created a new section in the left Navigation Bar called "Locate a Collaborative Practice Group". This section is targeted to the general public. By clicking this link the visitor will come to the page with a complete listing of all Practice groups organized by Country and State or Province. Click on a practice group, and the visitor will find a complete list of the active IACP members who are members of that group, with links to their member profiles.

We have retained the same practice group listing in the Professionals section of the website and in the Resources section for the public as well. So, the practice group listing is now in three places on the website.

If your practice group is not yet listed, please contact Paula Jackson, IACP Administrator, with the following information:

  • The exact name of your group
  • The contact person (name, address, phone, email)
  • Website, if you have one
  • A list of your members
  • Closed or open group; lawyer-only or interdisciplinary?
  • Is IACP membership a requirement of your group?

We hope that these new functions are helpful to you and your prospective clients. Our programmer, Doug Morton, has worked diligently to arrive at creative and responsive solutions to your needs and concerns. Please browse through the website and visit all the pages to access the many resources available to IACP members, collaborative professionals, and the public. We are now beginning work on Phase II of the website project, and will be introducing streaming videos, message boards, translated documents, articles, links and research in the coming months.
